Band Boosters Meeting 10 January 2013
7:00 PM
Present: Mr. S, Irene Evans, Pashiea Webb, Tamara Morehouse,
Stacy Brewer, Jessi Switcher, Melinda White, Jenny Spradlin, Torin Campbell,
Lynn Grames.
Pep Band: Schedule has been sent home with students. Please
ask them for the schedule, or ask them to get another from the band room.
Events begin at 5:30. Updated information is also available on the Band Booster

Solo-Ensemble Competition: This will be held the first
weekend in March at Flo Valley Community College. Wind Ensemble students are
required to participate, it is an option for all others.
Spring Concert: Will be at Florissant Civic Center. Mr. S is
investigating possibly holding a joint concert with Cross Keys. Date is May 9.
Masterwork Concert with be the Faure Requiem, performed by
band, orchestra and choir students. Tentative date is April 18.
Awards Reception (in place of Awards banquet, will cost less)
will be held at the end of April, date to be determined.
Jacob Evans was accepted to attend Missouri Fine Arts
Academy.
The fall show has not yet been selected. Dates for fall schedule not yet available.
Accompanist will be needed for Solo-Ensemble. Cost may be
$250-$300, to be determined.
Applications for Senior Scholarships are available from Mr.
S. Deadline is March 1.
Officer Elections will be coming in May. Please see by-laws
on the blog for details.
FUNDRAISING: This constituted the bulk of the discussion. A
brief update:
Breakfast at Longhorn: Torin will be getting more
information . 16 students will be needed, we will need to sell tickets for a
Saturday breakfast made and served by students. A Saturday in May was
discussed.
5 Below: Pashiea has gathered information and will chair the
event. A date will be found for this.
Under Armor: Mr. S investigated this, at present, the school
is having problems with the vendor, so they would prefer to not do this at this
time.
Corporate Fundraising: Gabrielle Tucker is heading this up.
She is investigating larger corporate donations.
TJs: We will plan on this in the spring. Irene will ask Eric
if he is interested in chairing.
Trivia Night: Trivia kits cost about $150. This will require
a committee. We will invite boosters to form a committee in the summer after we
have had a chance to recruit new parents from Cross Keys.
NMEA: Mr. S will get a video to Lynn Grames to submit. We
will invite parents and students at school to vote. Stay tuned.
There is much going on this spring! Be sure to support your
student by participating in Band Booster events!
