Dear Marching Band Parents,

Our first competition is this Saturday, September 15th and we will be doing a football game first! This is a significant challenge for all of us, and our students will need as many of us as possible to assist at every stage of the day. Below please find the list of things that need to be done, by time of day. Please volunteer to assist by responding to this email, and please be specific as to what you would like to do, and what time frame you will be available to help.

Before the Game: beginning at 10:30:
Fill water jugs for stands, put out cups
Fill/ice coolers for soda/water for lunch and trip
tape off band bleachers
Fit freshman hats
Supervise students cleaning their hats
Uniform sewing repairs
Move pit instruments, podium to field
Set up 50/50 table
Collect airgrams and money

During the game: (game starts at 1pm)
Supervise students in bleachers, including confiscating cell phones
Make sure students do not leave without permission
Sell 50/50 tickets
Crew the pit on and off the field at halftime
Move pit instruments, podium onto the truck after halftime
Pick up pizzas at Little Caesar's
Set up lunch for students

After halftime:
Serve lunch

At the competition:

Assist with stowing equipment
(If you are in your car waiting for your student, please consider assisting....students are not dismissed until all the equipment is put away. We can all go home sooner if we all help.)

It will be chilly at the competition! Make sure your student has warm clothes to wear after they compete. Students should either bring a sack lunch to eat after they compete, or bring money for a meal/snacks.
